Tripping The Light Fantastic
The Tripping The Light Fantastic single I designed the sleeve for is finally out! I made the artwork last summer and it was inspired by David Hockney and by those underwater photos of white tigers that were circling around the internet at the time. It's released by the amazing Cloudberry records, and it's available from their website: http://www.cloudberryrecords.com/. Big thanks to Roque for asking me to work on the project!
I also have a couple for sale so if you'd like to buy one, drop me an e-mail on info(a)karinsoderquist.com!

My Secret 7 Inches
Harder Than You Think - Public Enemy
The Beast - Laura Marling
I'm back in Stockholm after a wonderful weekend in London. I was there with my boyfriend and we hung out with some of my favourite people, did some shopping and ate loads of tasty food. We went back to our old neighbourhood for the first time since moving back to Sweden and had pizza at The Big Red in Deptford. It's an old double decker bus that's been converted into a restaurant. If you're in London and haven't been there, or if you're travelling to London, I really recommend you going there for a meal. The whole weekend was great and I felt both homesick and nostalgic. We're already making plans to go back again soon!
While we where there we also had a look at the Secret 7" exhibition that I had two pieces in this year. We where there about one hour after opening on Saturday and most of the sleeves had already been sold, so I never got to see mine printed. I did find a photo of this very pleased looking guy who bought one of them on The Secret 7"s facebook page though.

The Secret 7"
I'm taking part in the Secret 7" exhibition this year, which is really exciting!
For those of you who're not familiar with the concept, here's what they themselves say on their website:
"Secret 7’’ combines music and art for a good cause. What we do is take seven tracks from seven of the best-known bands and artists around. We press each of those tracks 100 times to vinyl then get creatives from around the world to interpret artwork in their own style for of one of the 7 tracks; resulting in a one-of-a-kind sleeve for every single one.
This year the chosen charity is Art Against Knives and the artists and tracks are: Elton John - Bennie and The Jets, HAIM - Better Off, Jessie Ware - Still Love Me, Laura Marling - The Beast, Mas - The Don, Nick Drake - Rider On The Wheel and Public Enemy - Harder Than you Think.
(I stole this photo of the exhibition from the Secret 7" facebook page http://www.facebook.com/Secret7s)
The exhibition is open to the public the 13th and 14th of April and on Record Store Day, the 20th of April, the sleeves will be auctioned off and all the secrets reveled!

You won’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for until you have parted with your cash – the secret lies within."

Felt Tiger
The Quirky Girl Crafter made a one off felt keyring based on the tiger from the Tripping The Light Fantastic 7" cover that I designed. I think it looks pretty cute!
The singel is coming out early April on Cloudberry Records, I'll tell you more and post some pictures of it then!
